To: Dear Lisa
From: Clueless in Fresno
Dear Precious Sister Lisa:
In reply to the question, "How do we get to that level in our marriages?"
I am so clueless!
I think a God Blessed marriage is a Work of God and a Work of God Only!
Just the way salvation is.....
All by Grace!
As you know, payers work!
And payers are The Way for sneaky girls to get their Heavenly Father's help with husbands or boyfriends :-)
Sometimes the girl's Heavenly Father sends their boyfriend packing, sometimes not.
And, sometimes the wife's Heavenly Father turns the husbands hearts toward her and keeps it turned toward her!
He gives His Blessings out to the undeserving as well as to to faithful.....
And, I know because I fall into the first category!
Lisa, as I shared in the introduction you required us to post in or you would kick us out
(another sneaky way get us guys to talk if you ask me!).....
{"I'm 63 and marred for 37 years to a little sweetie I trapped at Fresno State!
Of course, she says she trapped me!
And she started on me when she was just a very little girl!
She prayed to God to prepare for her a mate!
Someone she could love and someone to love her back!
That's so unfair!
To think all those trials I went through were not only to draw me closer to Jesus
But, were to make a loving husband out of me!
Girls! So sneaky!"}
Carol stole my heart the first week I meet her and she has not given it back yet!
A fellow just never knows what His Heavenly Father is cooking up with his earthly mate or mate-to-be!
The only thing a guy can do is surrender!
Love, Joe

Manliness!
Godly Machismo!
-Love-
"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away." (1 Corinthians 13:1-8)
Oh! What language I should use!
"Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;"
(Ephesians 5:19-20 )
Things to ask for in my Christmas Stocking!
Should He Terry!
Love, Joe

I think an important part of getting along for that many years is KNOWING the other's buttons and NOT PUSHING THEM!
