Hi everyone! My name is Gaye Ahlers. I currently live in Springfield, IL. My life story is rather complicated, so I will give you the simplified version. I lived in Springfield until I was 22, then moved to the Chicago area where I worked as a medical technologist for almost 15 years. I went back to college to get my teacher's certificate and became a classroom science teacher in several school districts. In 2001, I moved back to Springfield, worked as a regular and as a substitute teacher and attended the University of Illinois at Springfield where I got a Master's Degree in Individual Option in the area of science museum education.
I have been a Christian for 30 years in December. I got saved while I was a student at Illinois State University. I am currently a member of Living Water Church in Springfield and am very involved. I'm on the worship team and lead worship during some of the services. I'm also in charge of Greeter Ministry, sometimes Cleaning Captain, and assist with Sunday School.
I am a BIG supporter of Answers in Genesis and have visited the Creation Museum twice since it opened last year. I am aspiring to use my experience as a teacher and education at UIS to eventually work at the Creation Museum as a teacher and writer and organizer of curricula and programs.
